Dumbo Brand
Like Green Spot, we found another odd brand with a cool design: Dumbo. We found this one at the panadería during our Concha Acústico adventure on Sunday. They had three flavor offerings — colita, uva, y piña. All are terrible and Graham loved them all.
According to Wikipedia, Dumbo has been making and bottling a colita soda in Venezuela since 1951, though they went off the market in 1975. (Colita is nothing like the cola flavor of North America. Colita here tastes like chemically enhanced bubble gum). The rights to the brand were bought by Embotelladora Terrepaima in 2007 which added on to the original kola flavor. In addition to the three we tried, they apparently also make mandarina, manzana and limón flavors.
Their slogan? As printed on the bottle: “Correcto. Te merece un Dumbo.” Correct. You deserve a Dumbo.
