We are a family of 3 who moved from Seattle, Washington to Caracas, Venezuela in July 2012. We wanted a place to share our journey with friends and family, so we created this blog.
One thing we just couldn’t agree upon was the name. Michael liked “Cheese and Caracas” (for a punny play on words), Kat suggested “Que Chevere!” (Venezuelan slang for “how awesome!”), and Graham insisted on “Pam’n’balls” (which was too superb to pass up, so now he’s got his own page).
Then just yesterday we were chatting with our nanny about Venezuelan slang and the perfect term came up in conversation: Fino Cambur, which roughly translates to “Cool Bananas.” Bingo. We knew we’d finally found our title!
So here you have it: the Stein-Ross family record of all the things we think are Cool Bananas.
Enjoy!
