Announcing the new beer drinking uniform:
Cervecería Caracas was the Caracas baseball team from 1942 to 1952. The club was founded by Martin Tovar Lange. Now, he is almost certainly of the famed Tovar family, namesake of our local bavarian town, Colonia Tovar, which hosts a great “Oktovarfest” event. And since Tovar beers hold the top two spots in the Official Beers of Venezuela Rankings, the jersey is ever more appropriate as a beer drinking uniform. Cheers to that!
**Important Side Note** I am a Magallanes fan. So, even though the Cervecería Caracas club is popularly seen as the team that became the Leones de Caracas, I am not technically crossing allegiances because the club was bought by Pablo Morales in 1952 who, it is said, created a completely new franchise.
