School Garden Update

Plants go bonkers here. At first we didn’t think the soil was very good, and I still think it’s sub par, but I can’t deny that it’s producing. Most of what we grow will be sold to school moms in the plaza. And then the funds will go to a charity that the school often supports. We already had one big radish harvest and set up an attractive spread at lunch for the middle schoolers. I love it when kids try to trick their friends into eating radish — “Ooooh, it’s really goooood. Trust me!” And most go for it.

The plants are doing well, it’s just that the best soil we could buy here was this rice husk clay mixture. Definitely not what you’d find at the B-Patch.
