Now that we’re back from Winter Break and back into the school routine, we’ll pick up the pace a bit on this whole blog thing.
Last Friday there was a conference for teachers of international schools in Venezuela. Since we’d be outside of Caracas for the conference we made the easy decision to take a weekend away. Bug Paradise (Casa Maria) had come highly recommended from colleagues and for the most part lived up to the recommendations. It’s truly wonderful for birders and nature enthusiasts and for experiencing a regional cloud forest. The hosts have incredible knowledge, the food is incredible (including really nice imported German beer). However, mostly because there are so many sweet spots to see in Venezuela, it’s not a place we’re going to hurry back to. Final verdict: unless you are super into bugs and birds, it’s a “you should definitely experience it once” type of place.
Here are some highlights of the weekend.
