“Friends”
A lot of our students love the TV show “Friends”. They really do. Girls a bit more than boys, but still, the boys that watch admit to it happily. Perhaps, for them, it’s a retro thing. (Here belongs a typical comment about students making me realize I’m getting older. It happens all the time. You know my current 8th graders were either 1 or 0 years old when 9/11 happened? Crazy, I know.) Neither Kat nor I were ever into the show, which may help to explain why I find our students’ passion so curious.
When I was in NYC with the 8th graders last Spring many of the girls posed at Bethseda Fountain in Central Park like the actors do in the opening credits. I’m guessing it’ll happen again this year…one can hope.

It was a good show though, I found it entertaining at times I will admit.
